'This picture is the original Fire house of "City of
Hollywood" as annexed in 1910 with Tourist Auto, which at
that time was the first piece of automobile fire apparatus in
L.A. Fire Dept.
After taken over by L.A.F.D. it was
designated Hose Co #7 and the old building had originally been a
church.
When Eng. Co #27 was established in 1912,
Hose Co #7 was abandoned.
At the time of Annexation it was necessary to
retain the former Hollywood Fire Chief (Joe Shill) to drive, as
we had no one at that time who could drive an
automobile.'

The apparatus is a Tourist hose wagon built in Los Angeles. Later
