RULES AND REGULATIONS

RULE 1.
MEMBERSHIP

SECTION 1. Every member of the Los Angeles Fire Department shall be twenty-one years of age and a citizen of the United States; a qualified voter of the city of Los Angeles, sound in mind and body, and able to converse understandingly in the English language.

SEC. 2. Hereafter all persons appointed in this Department shall not be over thirty-five years of age, and shall not be less than 5 feet 7 inches in height, or circumference of chest and weight below that marked as the minimum accompaniment of the height and weight, or circumference of chest and weight below that marked as the minimum accompaniment of the height and weight in the following table:

SEC. 3. Previous dismissal from any department of the Los Angeles city government or from any fire department, or having been convicted of a felony, shall be cause for rejection.

SEC. 4. Applicants for positions in this department must furnish a certificate of a Medical Examiner that they are in sound bodily health.
